I've always been an artist. Art has taken many forms throughout my life prior to fine art.
As a child I created and sold "pet rocks" from painted river stones, filled my room with paper mache creatures and sewed up a storm making doll dresses. My teens were filled with writing poetry and journal stories. Adulthood came along and my interests turned to dressmaking, floral design, culinary design and interior decorating. My first home was a great opportunity to try my hand at a few different types of stonework such as tiling and building fieldstone fireplaces, and gardening. I developed a skill in practical mosaics - mostly backsplashes and shower stalls. This spring I have completed another mosaic kitchen backsplash- this one depicts an Algonquin scene and incorporates my love for Hamilton's waterfalls.
